How we check providers

Every provider profile shows a short list of what was actually checked before that listing went live. This page explains what each of those checks means, and what it doesn't.

Business identity

The "Business identity" check means the listing was published only after several details agreed with each other. The business name, its state, and the entity name on its ABN all had to match before the listing went live. Where those details were ambiguous or didn't agree, the listing stays unpublished rather than going live on a guess.

Website

Where a profile links to a provider's website, that domain was matched to the business during onboarding or claiming. It isn't a link we found by search and assumed was correct.

Certifications

Certifications shown on a profile are as listed by the provider or supplied by a licensed third-party business data source, not independently sighted by MSP Pie staff. A badge showing a bare standard name, such as "ISO/IEC 27001:2022", means the certification is on file but hasn't been separately verified by us. Where we have personally verified one, ourselves, with the issuing body, the badge says "Verified" and shows the date we did it. Check any certification you're relying on directly with the issuing body before you sign.

Confirm before you engage

These checks confirm that a business is registered and that what's shown traces back to a real source. They are not an endorsement, and they don't substitute for your own diligence. Before engaging any provider, confirm its registration and any licence or certification you're relying on directly with the relevant register (the ABR, the certifying body, or the professional licensing authority for your state), and get your own agreement in writing.
