ISO/IEC 27001 certified IT providers in Australia
ISO/IEC 27001 is an information security management standard: a certified provider has had its approach to protecting client data independently audited against it, not just described it in a sales pitch. It's the certification most often asked for in security questionnaires, cyber insurance applications and government or enterprise procurement.
102 providers are listed here with a real, on-file ISO/IEC 27001 certification. A certificate is scoped to specific services and sometimes specific offices. A provider certified for its help desk operation isn't automatically certified for a cloud hosting service it also sells. Ask for the scope statement, not just the certificate number.

What each standard proves
| Standard | What it proves | Who typically asks for it | Providers on file |
|---|---|---|---|
| ISO/IEC 27001:2022 | An independently audited information security management system | Auditors, cyber insurers, and enterprise or government procurement and security questionnaires | 103 |
| ISO 42001:2023 | An independently audited AI management system: how the provider governs, risk-assesses and oversees the AI systems it builds or deploys | Enterprise buyers with an AI governance requirement, a newer and smaller ask than ISO 27001's | 6 |
What to ask a certified provider for
The same five things answer an auditor, an insurer, or a client security questionnaire. Ask a provider for these directly rather than accepting the word “certified” on its own:
- The certificate number: every real certificate carries one; a provider that can’t produce it isn’t certified yet.
- The issuing body’s name and who accredits it: in Australia, that’s usually JAS-ANZ, a full member of the International Accreditation Forum. The issuing body audits the provider; JAS-ANZ accredits the issuing body, and never touches the provider’s own audit directly.
- The scope statement: what the certificate actually covers. A provider certified for one service or office isn’t automatically certified for another it also sells.
- The current status and expiry date: certification runs on a three-year cycle with annual surveillance audits in between; an expired certificate is not a current one.
- Independent verification: cross-check the certificate number and issuing body directly with the issuing body, not just the provider’s own claim. How to verify an ISO certificate walks through this in full.
